Georgia Resident Arrested After 480 pounds of Marijuana Found in Truck
Although the incident occurred in Phoenix,
Arizona, a
Georgia
man was arrested after 480 pounds of marijuana were found in the commercial truck he was driving. The man was pulled over by an Arizona Department of Public Safety patrol officer for an equipment violation and safety inspection while traveling on an
interstate highway
this past Thursday.
A police narcotics canine helped sniff out the marijuana and officers found the 481 pounds of marijuana stored in luggage located in the truck's sleeper berth. The estimated street value of the drug was around $264,000.00.
Tommy Lee Pinkins of Moultrie,
Georgia was booked on charges of possession of marijuana and transportation for sale. He was taken to the
Maricopa
County
jail.
