Allen Iverson’s Wife Files For Divorce
This has not been the year for NBA star Allen Iverson.
His career is dwindling to an end, his four-year-old daughter is suffering from an undisclosed illness, and now his wife of 8 ½ years is leaving him.
Tawanna Iverson filed for
divorce the same day the Philadelphia 76ers announced Iverson would not be returning this season.
Not long after announcing he will not play for the rest of the season in order to spend more time with his ill daughter, NBA star Allen Iverson was served with divorce papers. In her divorce petition, Tawanna declared their marriage “irretrievably broken.”
Tawanna’s attorney would not comment on what led his client to file for divorce, and said that she wants to keep the divorce a private matter. But according to court papers, Allen and Tawanna have been living separately for some time.
In her filing Tawanna requested sole physical
custody of all five children,
child support, alimony, attorney fees, and equitable distribution of their property.
Allen’s attorney has not yet commented on the divorce.
