Heidi Montag Files for Legal Separation

According to UsMagazine.com, a court clerk reported that Heidi Montag filed for legal separation from her husband, Spencer Pratt.  The documents were allegedly filed in a Santa Monica, California courthouse. 

Contrary to reports, the 24 year old Montag did not file for divorce.  However, due to the fact that she did file for separation, her earnings will become hers alone from the date of her separation from Pratt.

In April 2009, Montage married 26 year old Pratt.  Their wedding was featured on the reality TV series, The Hills.  Even though legal documents have been filed with the court, some believe that it may be a publicity stunt and are leery.
