Georgia Authorities Arrest Murder Suspect

In Georgia, it is reported that authorities have arrested a 30 year old man from South Bend, Indiana.  The man, Jermaine Reeves, was wanted in connection with a fatal shooting a 16 year old female four years ago.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit said that Reeves was arrested in Atlanta on April 29, 2006 after J-Vonda Tharbs was killed.  Tharbs was shot and killed while visiting her older sister's apartment.  Police presiding over the case say that it was a revenge attack that had been intended for another victim.

Two years ago, Reeves was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit murder and three others were convicted in the case.  Police say they were able to arrest Reeves with help from the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force of Indiana and Atlanta.
