Georgia Ranks 15th in Domestic Violence Murders

According to the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Georgia Commission of Family Violence, the state ranks 15 th in the country for domestic violence murders.

This puts Georgia in the top 1/3 of states with the highest rate of domestic violence murders. It's important for everyone in Georgia to take domestic violence or threats of domestic violence seriously, and realize that domestic violence can easily escalate into murder.

Study leaders say that domestic violence murders are preventable, and that the key to prevention is communication. The study also points out that in 89% of cases someone in the victim's life knew that domestic violence was occurring long before it escalated into murder.
