Driver Faces Multiple Charges for DUI Accident

A driver is facing multiple criminal charges for a DUI accident that left at least 12 people injured.

According to police, Joy Christine Wilson, 32, is responsible for causing a bus crash that left all the passengers on the bus injured. She was allegedly driving her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when she hit the bus, causing the bus to slam into a guardrail and tip over. Investigators say her blood alcohol concentration was more than double the legal limit (.08 percent).

Wilson is also accused of fleeing the scene of the accident. She did stop briefly, but then quickly took off. She was apprehended by police a short time later and taken into custody. She has since been charged with reckless driving and multiple counts of DUI, failing to return to the scene, and causing serious injury by vehicle.
